Julie and the Phantoms is a remake of the Brazilian series of the same name launched in 2010. The series is not bad, although some things don't make sense it is quite addictive

I like this show but there are so many plot holes. How did julies mom pass? Who is carries mom and why isn’t she in carries life? What happened between Carrie and Julie that ended their friendship? If Julie and Flynn were in a band as kids but Carrie and Julie were friends was Carrie in the band with Julie and Flynn? I also feel that they didn’t set themselves up for a season 2. Each episode gives to much info and things happen way to quickly. Another thing that I didn’t like is the music don’t get me wrong I love the songs but for this being a rock music show the music was not rock it was musical theatre/ pop. I wish they had more of a Red Hot Chili Peppers/ foo fighters vibe I personally think now or never had potential to be written similar to “by the way” by Red Hot Chili Peppers. I wish the boys were able to showcase their instrument skills more too they only get to showcase when they are with Caleb with Julie it’s very easy and doesn’t show what they can do. I do wish to that Julie either played piano the whole time she sang or didn’t play at all. Every song was the same starts with her at piano once the chours hits she stops playing then goes back at the end. To repetitive overall. Also vocally every song sounds the exact same and is to much belting. The songs have no levels and lacks emotion to the lyrics. I would’ve loved to see the boys go ham on guitar and drums. Owen and Jeremy both should’ve sang a lot more instead of it only being Madison and Charlie. I’m also not a fan on Luke and Julie I think it’s weird bc there is a age difference and neither of them want their characters to have a bf/gf relationship so it should’ve been more of a brother sister relationship instead. Overall I don’t feel this was Kenny’s best work even the choreography didn’t seem like Kenny. This is the first thing of Kenny’s that I’ve seen where the leads do the bare minimum of dancing especially Julie. And as for the arrangements of the songs I think it was 50:50 how it was arranged and how it was sung by the singer. I personally felt that wake up lacked emotion and build. It started quite then got big then went back to quite and back to big and stayed big then went back to quite. It was a very unnatural build. I did like the show but I don’t feel it was set up for a season 2 which makes me sad because I would’ve loved to see what Kenny would do.

I watched it because I remember loving the Brasilian version and it's honestly not bad at all, there are a few things that could've been better (the songs were very meh but that's just my taste) but besides that, this show did a lot of things very well! Alex's storyline, as well as Luke's, were just very interesting and nice to watch, the outfits lol, idk overall I think this is really good for being a teen? children? show. Would recommend

Question. Do you actually watch the tv series or movies you review or do you just skim through enough to make sarcastic comments? I'm asking because I just found your channel and of the reviews I've seen you've only found one that was kinda good or at least made sense. On this particular series you have the plot wrong, you couldn't remember the characters names and you said NOTHING about the amazing music. Also if you had actually watched the series (which I suspect you didn't) you would have found it has a great plot, had very little to do with how the guys see 2020 and has an extremely encouraging message to people of all ages not just teenagers. And if you actually put some thought into it, when the show was filmed, and premiered in Sept of 2019 there was no covid. I'll tell you something else I know a lot of musicians and MOST of them would do anything to play music. It's called having a passion. Lately I've subscribed to a lot of channels (of all types) but I won't be subscribing to yours. I might have if I thought you were actually watching and paying attention to what you were reviewing.
